2 SecureDrop strings need work (May 2018 string freeze)

Bonjour,

TL;DR: Last call for 0.7.0 translation starts today, string freeze in effect and deadline is May 8th.

As of today, 2 of the translation strings need attention. They are minor changes: removing an extra white space and removing a few words. You may also be interested in a conversation regarding how to translate last week change from submit documents to just submit, a direct object omission common in English but not so much in other languages.

This is in addition to the 19 strings changed last week. This is the string freeze, that is the last update for the 0.7.0 release scheduled May 8th, 2018. No strings will change before the release.

There are a number of languages that are in progress and candidate to be released in a week from now. If you are fluent in one of the languages that are in progress, feel free to jump in.

The 0.7.0 release will include translations that need update for Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch, Portuguese (Brasil), Turkish and Chinese (Traditional). If you are fluent in one of these languages we need your help to translate the last few strings that were changed or updated.

Reviewers from localizationlab are kindly reminded that they can Approve a string, meaning translators can only suggest modifications but cannot modify the translated string. This helps make sure the strings they reviewed are not changed unexpectedly right before the release. See the documentation for more information about this feature. When a language is fully reviewed, the progress bar will show all blue. Translations that need approval show in green.

If you notice something odd in the strings marked Need review, this is not a bug and there are good reasons for this to happen and nothing we can do to improve that. This is rare though and you can just provide the correct translation and all will be good. If you think the problem you’re seeing is different, please followup on that thread in the forum.

On the weblate language page, you will see that some strings need review (they were modified) and others are new and not translated yet.

You can click on the red line and will be redirected to a page where you can see how the english string was updated.

If you think the translation is still good and does not require any update, you can check the Approved button and then Save to move to the next string. Otherwise you can modify the string, check the Approved button and Save.

Cheers

@kushaldas the string freeze is in effect. Weblate was updated and the announcement made. Now begins the leg work and your help would be much appreciated. In a nutshell, it means closely watching progress on each of the supported languages and kindly reaching out to reviewers to make sure they have all they need to complete the review or translation by the deadline. It is possible that some of them are not available, in which case we have to find someone else for this release.
