Do we translate contents inside brackets?
My guess is no, since they seem like variables to me.
Example: The source ‘{original_name}’ has been renamed to ‘{new_name}’

Yep you’re right - one translates only the content outside the brackets, but leave the content inside the brackets in English as it is indeed a variable.
