It was suggested today that it would look a lot better to have non-native fonts for Arabic, Farsi, etc. For instance https://github.com/rastikerdar/vazir-font
Unless someone objects in the next few days I’ll try to implement that.
Thoughts ?
I’m afraid using GitHub - rastikerdar/vazirmatn: Vazirmatn is a Persian/Arabic font. وزیرمتن یک فونت فارسی/عربی است won’t be possible because it is released under a strange license. There is at least one paragraph that makes it incompatible with any Free Software license:
The Font Software may be sold as part of a larger software package but no copy of one or more of the Font Software typefaces may be sold by itself.
However there may be other fonts of the same kind released under Free Software licenses ?
